The Lomo Lives

<  The Lomo Lives

gas_stationSo right before I went to Cuba my trusty Lomo fell onto a brick floor and I figured it was curtains for my favorite screwin’ around camera. But you can’t kill this lil’ bugger. It’s held together with gaffers tape, didn’t cost too much to begin with, but still gets it done. Took this one in Baracoa, the day before the Tour of Cuba started. The Lomo was my walking around camera down there, nice to shoot non-digi on some Kodak 160 NC print film. It fits perfectly in the side pocket of cargo shorts, so pretty lo-profile. When you get it right, maybe one out of four images, it’s worth it.

Man, spring is so close. I’m wearing fewer layers every ride, the puddles are getting smaller, and the fields are starting to smell like fermented cowshit. Yeah, it’s spring in northern New England. The two snow forts in the backyard is almost all gone too. But, the first shorts ride is still probably weeks away.
