Wrapped

TrueI really wanted to get back to Belgium to shoot this race again this year but I think I’ll have to wait to 2009 when it hosts the Worlds. Hoogerheide is incredible for a CX race and the shooting was good, and got better once the heavens opened and the temp plummeted. Tonkin won’t be going either as he and Rhonda had a little boy the week before the USGP. Family before CX. And now it’s snowy and totally wintery here in NH with more on the way, supposedly. So now we shoot some skiing…

Still Here

Pave
We’ve been waiting out here in Seattle for the weather to get good enough to shoot some winter scenes but it ain’t going to happen so I fly home tonight. Some spots in the mountains have lost 2′ of snow since Sunday. Yikes. And at home it’s way wintry, go figure. But while I was here we squeezed in some shooting, hit up the east side pavé: a sticker to whoever can tell me where this shot was taken. The camera gear has finally dried out and for the most part I’ve scraped the mud of everything. What a weekend…

Pretty PRO

Vest
You know it’s pretty wet when the pros are putting plastic bags on to race. Check out Wells looking like a homeless guy, all bundled up with a see-thru plastic vest. Back in Seattle waiting for the crazy weather to clear, we’re supposed to be shooting winter stuff in the Cascades but it got so warm that the 3′ of snow up there has turned into soup and the shoot is on indefinite hold. Good thing there’s plenty of coffee.

Wet

Splash

You get the idea of what PDX CX was like this weekend. The racing was crazy because of crazy weather. It was so much fun. Raced the blinglespeed after roaching my rear der on Saturday, in which I DNFed. But it was great to race and feel healthty. Shoulder was A-OK though I was scared of crashing for a lot of the first race. Shooting was barely tolaerable considering the inclement weather.
